Mountains of My Mind

My wife, the good mom and woman, is back to school teaching the littles. All things considered, she’s doing well. She’s crushed in the deep places, I know, and she will never be the same, but I’m really amazed at how well she’s navigating this tragic life event. She had her first counseling session yesterday and really liked her therapist. It went well.

I went for a walk today, part of my daily therapy, and decided against listening to audiobooks. Everybody’s preaching, and none of it is landing well with me. There’s too much noise, too many voices. I have to think about who I want to listen to. Narrow focus for me.

Instead, I decided to listen to Chris Stapleton’s new album, Higher.1 It’s an excellent album. Below are two songs that leveled me as I listened to the lyrics in relation to Cooper. Real tears.
